Reset will update the car, but it won’t update BMW’s systems (as expected). 10,000miles out of a high quality synthetic like German Castrol 5W30, Mobile 1 0W40, or any other BMW LL-01 approved oil like Valvoline Maxlife 5W30 isn't uncommon. Very good synthetics such as Amsoil or redline recommend higher intervals than what BMW recommends.
