1. He said turbo is better, I replied I agree but bad maintenance from user happen rendering the engine dies early. 2. You go haywire, "You are new here" and {put sentence here about being censored} 3. I said don't quote tidbit of my statement. 4. You said I am conflated and proceed to conflate yourself from bad maintenance to Honda design
The Acura TLX is a reliable, durable vehicle that can last 250,000 to 300,000 miles on average. Based on an annual mileage of 15,000 miles, TLX owners can expect 17 – 20 years of service before requiring uneconomical repairs. This is dependant on conservative driving habits and proper maintenance.

A: The Honda HR-V is powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 141 horsepower and 127 pound-feet of torque. It reaches 60 mph in about 8.6 seconds and has a top speed of 105 mph.

Jun 5, 2023 #1 I am shopping for a civic, and found this 2022 Touring Civic sedan with only 15 000 km, price is decent. Now, should I worry about the 1.5 turbo? Seems like this engine is being bashed for the oil dilution problem from years back. Anyone have a 1.5 turbo with high mileage?
It is not to say that 1.5L isn’t reliable, it’s reliable assuming you resolved the oil dilution issue. But it isn’t as reliable as the 2.0L. The 2.0L uses port injectors so the valves are always cleaned with gas whereas 1.5L is direct injection which carbon build up is inevitable. Therefore another win on longevity for the 2.0L.
These factors lead to quick wear and tear and multiply minor problems that influence the way this engine deals with mileage and years. We would say that the average lifespan of the CR-V 1.5L engine should be 120,000 to 130,000 miles until you get the first serious problem. re: Long-term reliability of Hyundai's diesel engines. Diesel engines in general are pretty robust. There should be no reason for a well maintained Hyundai diesel to give up at 1lakh km. Engine life is a function of how well it is maintained. Ensure regular servicing is done on time, and the engine will outlive the rest of the car. A co-worker of mine had a friend that was a service manager at a Honda dealer and he recommended going with the 1.5 since its got better performance and fuel economy. He said Honda has perfected that engine over such a long period of time it is super reliable and he sees no more problems with the 1.5 vs the 2.0, despite the 1.5 being a turbo.
Turbo ≠ higher rated gas. Use 87 and don’t waste money on anything else. Unless you have a tune 87 is fine. Nah. Honda says 87 is fine, you don’t need to put anything else in. I’ve run nothing but 87 in my EX-L and it’s been totally fine for the 17,000 miles it’s driven. Normally Honda/Car manufacturers will recommend.
